Psychological Profile: (Starfleet Command Records) Now calling himself, Mason Bishop, Adam prefers to keep to himself. Through years of incredible discipline he routinely keeps his emotions to himself, only "seeming" to feel emotions at appropriate times for the benefit of those in contact with him. On those rare occasions where he does express his true emotions, he only does so with the closest of friends. Possessing a strong empathic sense, Mason can sense the emotional states of others as well as project "limited" mood enhancement. He usually projects emotions towards those he is dealing with to alter their personal perceptions and give himself an advantage. Because of his semi-psionic nature and years of training, he can sense and block other telepaths and empaths to a high degree, though he is not completely immune to such abilities. Mason is quiet, thoughtful, analytical, and intelligent. Anyone dealing with him may find themselves at a disadvantage, but will rarely realize that this is the case. As a habit, Mason often tends to lead others into believing that his own ideas are actually theirs, using subtle suggestions and positive reinforcement.
Description: Generally, Mason speaks using contractions, though he does so intelligently and without appearing uneducated. Whenever he is in a situation where foul language may be appropriate, he has several dozen languages in which he is fluent in vulgarities and other colorful phrases.
Background: During the years that followed the beginning of the Cold War in the early 1950's, the government of the United States began Project Helix, a program to create genetically superior soldiers for use against the Soviet Communists should the need arise. Under the supervision of Doctor Sabastian Dracus*, Project Helix created a number of prototype supermen, but all were failures until they came to the Sigma Series. Adam 001 was the first and most powerful of the Sigma Series, which were then dubbed the "Spartans" by the Department of Defense. The Spartans saw service in the Vietnam Police Action under the supervision of Special Operations and the newly created SEAL teams, as well as the Central Intelligence Agency. Because of backroom politics and the growing unpopularity of the war back in the States, the Spartans were never allowed to fully engage the Vietnam Forces, an action that surely would have ended the threat of Communism in South East Asia within a year's time. Instead, the Sigmas were vastly under-utilized and the war was allowed to drag on, condemning thousands more young soldiers to die in a useless campaign. After Vietnam, the Sigmas were used for various operations against increasingly hostile Threat Forces throughout the Middle East and South East Asia. The U.S. Government became concerned about the proliferation of nuclear and biological weapons by hostile foreign powers and sent the Spartans in to deal with these sensitive situations. All such operations were disavowed by the U.S. and publicly campaigned against in the Senate, while at the same time being secretly supported by the government. The 1980's saw the appearance of many genetically enhanced superhumans not under the control of the United States. The Soviet Union's Communist government was toppled a result of the actions of these gen-humans. By the beginning of the 90's, the United Nations began an aggressive military campaign against the gen-humans, in what were later called the Eugenics Wars. Within a few years, Khan Noonien Sinhg and his minions had managed to conquer over half the human population of Earth. From 1992 to 1996, Khan was absolute ruler of more than a quarter of the Earth, from South Asia to the Middle East. The Spartans, along with the U.N.'s conventional forces, were engaged in open warfare against the opposing superhuman threat. By the end of 1996, Khan was finally overthrown and forced to flee Earth. But with victory came paranoia. The Spartans and all other genetically enhanced lifeforms were outlawed and all further genetic experimentation was forbidden by United Nations statutes. Adam 001 and the remaining Sigmas were rounded up and placed in Quarantine, awaiting execution under Executive Order 987.03. For their valiant service in the protection of humanity and freedom, the Spartans were labeled criminals and scheduled to die simply because they were different from the humans who had created them. How Adam 001 and his fellow Simgas escaped prison and eventually made their way into space is purely a matter of conjecture. No real evidence of their activities has ever been accurately recorded to date. But what is known is that Adam is now the sole surviving member of his species. No other gen-humans are known to have survived, nor has Adam's secret of his longevity been revealed.
Disciplinary Notations: Several of Bishop's commanding officers have been know to have "disappeared" during botched Special Operations. To date, all such incidents have been attributed to their incompetence and not believed to be the result of foul play. Personnel Update:
