The Brooks were married in 2351 while they were both stationed on the USS Alaska. He was a Warrent Officer at the time in security, and she was a Ensign in Counseling. In 2365 Mrs. Brooks was forced to retire from Starfleet at the rank of Lieutenant. The formal reason was because of her frail condition. Since this time, Kaitlyn has prided herself in making a comfortable home for her husband. |

2353: Kaitlyn is promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
2360: Both are transferred to USS Hurricane.
2362: Karsten is promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
2364: Kaitlyn is promoted to Lieutenant.
2365: Kaitlyn is forced to retire due to medical illness. Karsten takes a teaching position at the Academy.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Kaitlyn was a sickly child from birth. Modern medical
science did little to improve her health. From puberty she was diagnosed with ovarian cysts, and no
matter what method doctors tried, it never got better. By the age of 20, doctors informed her that
to live, her ovaries would have to be removed. She consented to the surgery to save her life.
